The Role Reporting to the Business Unit Manager your role as National Account Manager would be to ensure the continued growth and profitability of these market leading products through specific convenience / retail channels. As the key contact for your customers it will be your job to establish and nurture productive and constructive relationships with all appropriate account contacts in order to fully exploit the business opportunities presented by the accounts under your management. You will develop the medium and long term business plans that will deliver continued growth and profitability whilst fully considering customer requirements, market conditions, financial requirements and constraints, consumer trends and brand plans. You will ensure your market and customer intelligence remains up to date through involvement with trading teams and attending trade shows. Promotional planning is part of your remit. This is an autonomous largely field based role so would suit an individual who can maintain their drive for results and focus without people around them all the time. Although based in the East Midlands there is significant UK / NI travel involved so a driving license is essential. About You Ideally you will be a creative ambitious and successful sales professional with previous experience of business development or account management working with big brands, preferably within the grocery sector. Of graduate calibre and with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills you will be comfortable meeting people at all levels, able to engage and influence others to ensure outcomes serve the business well, Your previous experience and business acumen will enable you to assess the challenge, identify opportunities or weakness and develop a strategy that will enable you to deliver against the operating plan. Confident in your own ability you will be able to make decisions when needed, even if the information is incomplete or ambiguous. Your entrepreneurial approach will mean you maintain the overview of your account, monitor activities and outcomes, including having the managerial courage to make changes if needed, maintaining perspective at all times whilst constantly moving toward the desired outcome. Rewards Rewards are as you would expect from a market leader. A competitive salary between £34,000 and £38,600 plus additional take-home pay including company performance bonus and a personal performance bonus. This attractive benefits package is worth around 25% of basic salary and includes an excellent Pension plan, Life Assurance, Private Medical Insurance and extensive Training and Development programmes for individuals.
