Food Overheads Analyst (Leics) to £28k This FMCG giant is looking for a Food Overheads Analyst to find opportunities to save money and drive savings efficiencies across this food manufacturing business. The Role The purpose of this role is to drive the performance and manage the operational accounting of Food Overhead Costs (G&A plus Franchise & Sales). This includes being the first point of contact for all questions regarding Group Overheads and pro-actively looking for ways to reduce costs. This role will support the Food Factory and Market Finance teams in their analysis of their relevant Fixed Cost areas and complete the required corporate/external reporting and tax pack requirements. The Financial Accounting team is responsible for the production of internal financial information covering the UK Group activities, plus the completion of year-end statutory and corporate returns. The team also manages the Financial Planning process for the UK, cash forecasting, balance sheet controls and fixed costs. The team is a work engine within S&F producing a high volume of output, which must be produced accurately and to tight deadlines. Overhead Costs managed by the jobholder are £20M, and the pressure is on to minimise costs in this area in order to improve the overall financial shape of the business. The accurate reporting of spend is key to enabling budget holders to ensure spend is controlled. The jobholder will need to have or develop the confidence and capabilities to challenge senior budget holders to realise any opportunities to reduce Food overheads. This role is an ideal opportunity to learn the "nuts and bolts" of accounting in a role that has a balance of technical and broader business areas. Principle Accountabilities To manage the operational accounting and drive the performance of Food overhead costs with specific responsibility for: •By building up strong relationships with the key budget holders, drive and co-pilot the performance of Food overhead costs, looking for opportunities for cost reduction through regular review sessions. •Production and analysis of Food periodic overhead costs •Communication of Food overheads performance for budget holders, providing insights for spend variances versus LY/Plan for both Local and European costs •Managing UK Group involvement in R&D Global cost sharing arrangements. •Working with other segment counterparts, own the UK overheads re-charge process for Food, ensuring accuracy/validity of costs charged in/out •Responsible for control and reconciliation of own balance sheet (accruals and prepayments) accounts. •Manage the Food currency clearing process at period end •Complete the required corporate/external tax pack requirements for Food overheads in particularly R&D, and review our submission with PWC •Own and drive the buy to pay audit process, ensuring there is compliance with the audits sent out and look for ways to improve the control environment through this process. Essential for success in the role: •Degree in Finance or related area •Strong numerical and analytical skills •Good communication skills •Accounting qualification CIMA or ACA (or prepared to study to complete within 3 years) Desirable •Working knowledge of SAP and FPPS Rewards include Salary up to £28,600.
